Francis of Córdoba

 

A brief biography.

      

The Spanish Dominicans, Francis of Córdoba, born at Córdoba, and the laybrother John Garcés,  were sent by Peter of Córdoba (1482-29.06.1530) from the Dominican Republic to Cumaná in Venezuela in 1514.

Their ship was entered by the Indians and the whole crew was killed among them the two Dominicans.

Francis of Córdoba, at the left, and John Garcés, were killed after the entering of their ship by the Indians of Cumaná, Venezuela, in 1514.

On the stamp their portraits and the (lily) Coat of Arms of the Dominican Order.
